Maitland Artists Annual Members' Exhibition 2026
The Maitland Artists Annual Members' Exhibition showcases recent work by our members across a range of mediums and styles. The exhibition offers the public an opportunity to view and purchase original artworks created by local artists. These artworks are in a variety of mediums including watercolour, oil, mixed media, pen and ink and pastels. Sculptural works are also on exhibit.
Supporting Charity - Slow Food Hunter Valley Inc for the Food Rescue Kitchen Project.
The Maitland Art Society is pleased to support Slow Food Hunter Valley as our charity partner for this year’s exhibitions. At least 15% of the profits from both exhibitions will be donated to help fund their local initiatives. Through this partnership, we hope to contribute to projects that promote sustainable food practices, community education, and the protection of biodiversity within our region.
By visiting the exhibitions and supporting participating artists, you’ll also be helping Slow Food Hunter Valley continue their work advocating for food that is good, clean and fair for everyone.
About Slow Food Hunter Valley
Slow Food is an international movement with communities in more than 160 countries, working to support local food cultures and sustainable practices. Slow Food Hunter Valley brings this ethos to our region through advocacy, education, and the promotion of biodiversity.
With around 65 members and a wider network of supporters, the group runs regular events, social gatherings, and community initiatives focused on strengthening local food systems and encouraging responsible, sustainable choices. Their work helps connect producers, growers, and the community while celebrating the rich food culture of the Hunter region.

Meet some of our exhibiting artists
Lindy Hyam - President MRSA
Lindy lives in Lorn and is an enthusiastic artist working in watercolour, oil, and mixed media. Her art works reflect the beauty of the natural and man made landscapes across Australia and feature the beautiful plants and birds in her heritage garden.
Joanne Conder
Joanne is an award winning Maitland artist who enjoys painting a variety of subjects in different mediums to express her love of colour and the beauty of God’s creation. She aims to capture the atmosphere and beauty of her subjects whether it be in landscape, flora or the connection and interaction of birdlife.
Dorothy Compton
Dorothy was born in Barmera, S.A. Her childhood was filled with adventure, living in South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. She loves nature and appreciates the continual inspiration it gives to her art work. She works in watercolour, charcoal, acrylic and oil. She lives in an old wooden church at Cessnock, this is her studio, gallery and teaching space.
Diane Sant
Diane grew up in North Queensland, spending her childhood on her parents farm where her understanding and love of the wonders of nature developed her desire to express its beauty through art.
Her Artwork has included oils, watercolours a little acrylics and pastels. She loves to capture moments of beauty which have special meaning and memories.
